The drive from Skopje to Debar
The route runs on the A2 motorway to Gostivar, then continues through Mavrovo and the Radika River canyon, squeezed between the Šar, Korab and Bistra mountains. Lake Debar and Rajčica Monastery

The view of the lake against the surrounding peaks is reason enough for many travellers to pause here on the way into town.
The Kosovrasti and Banjište spas
A few kilometres from central Debar, the thermal springs at Kosovrasti and Banjište produce sulphur-rich water running roughly 38 to 48 degrees at the source. Kosovrasti is considered one of the richest sulphur springs in the region, and both spas offer pools and treatments built around the mineral water and local mud. The old bazaar and the mosques
Debar has seven mosques, unusual for a town its size, and the Inkjar Mosque, built in 1468 on the order of Sultan Mehmed II, is the oldest still standing. The old bazaar keeps its narrow Ottoman-era lanes and craft shops, a good spot for a short walk and a coffee. The town centre is easily covered on foot in under an hour.
