Bučim, Plačkovica and the surrounding area

Mount Plačkovica, which separates Radoviš from Vinica, draws hikers and day walkers, and Lake Kalimanci, with quiet scenery and the remains of an ancient settlement on an island, makes an easy nearby excursion.

When to go and what to pair it with

Spring and autumn suit a walk through town and a trip up toward Plačkovica best; summer brings the full heat typical of the eastern basin. Radoviš sits roughly halfway between Štip and Strumica, so it combines easily with a visit to either city on the same day, especially travelling by private car with no fixed bus station to circle back to.

Taxi vs. the bus

A Skopje–Radoviš bus exists, but it runs less frequently than services to larger cities, and the journey with stops takes longer than a direct drive. For one traveller it's the cheaper option; for a family or colleagues travelling together, a private car or van, sized to the group, drops you at the exact address in town rather than just the bus stop.

The return leg and onward trips

Heading back the same day? The driver can wait up to 6 hours — the return leg is discounted, with the first hour of waiting free and each extra started hour charged after that; the booking form shows the exact total. A later return is booked as a separate one-way transfer at the normal price. If you're continuing on, Radoviš is a convenient stop on the way to Strumica or back toward Štip.
