Flights from Italy to Skopje from Milan Bergamo, Rome, Bari, Naples, Bologna and Treviso

Flights from Italy to Skopje are all Wizz Air: six routes all year, from Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, Bari, Naples, Bologna and Venice Treviso, plus summer flights from Palermo and Alghero. This page covers which airport each city's flight really uses, how often each route flies in winter and summer, whether you can still fly from Italy to Ohrid, and your options once you land in Skopje.

Information checked

Which Italian airports fly direct to Skopje

Every direct route between Italy and Skopje International Airport (SKP) is flown by Wizz Air; no other airline flies between the two countries in the current timetables. The figures below are round trips per week in summer 2026 and in winter 2026/27, and they shift a little from week to week.

No route flies daily, so the day of the week often decides which Italian airport you use. If you can travel from more than one, compare them for your dates before you look at the fare.

  • Milan Bergamo (BGY): 4 a week in summer, 2 to 3 in winter
  • Rome Fiumicino (FCO): 4 a week in summer, 3 in winter
  • Bari (BRI): 3 a week in summer, 2 in winter
  • Naples (NAP): 3 a week in summer, 1 to 2 in winter; the route started on 30 March 2026
  • Venice Treviso (TSF): 2 to 4 a week in summer, 1 to 2 in winter
  • Bologna (BLQ): 2 a week in summer, 1 to 2 in winter
  • Palermo (PMO) and Alghero (AHO): summer only, from mid-July to mid-September 2026

Milan, Venice and Rome: check the airport name

Milan's flight to Skopje leaves from Bergamo (BGY), not from Malpensa or Linate, and Venice's leaves from Treviso (TSF), not from Marco Polo. Rome's flight uses Fiumicino (FCO). Allow for the journey out to Bergamo or Treviso when you compare times and prices.

The current timetables show no direct flight to Skopje from Turin, Florence, Pisa, Verona or Catania. From those cities the nearest options are usually Bologna, Milan Bergamo or Rome, or a connection through another hub.

Italy to Skopje flight time

Flights from Italy are short. Bari is the quickest at about 1 hour 10 minutes, followed by Naples at about 1 hour 35 minutes and Venice Treviso at about 1 hour 40 minutes. Rome Fiumicino, Bologna and Palermo take about 1 hour 50 minutes, and Milan Bergamo and Alghero about 2 hours.

These are our estimates from the published airport timetables, rounded to 5 minutes, not airline figures. The scheduled time on your booking is the one to plan by.

Year-round and summer routes from Italy

The six mainland routes appear in both the summer 2026 and the winter 2026/27 timetables, so you can fly from Italy to Skopje in any month. What drops in winter is frequency. Bologna goes down to one flight a week for part of the winter and Naples to one or two. In October 2026 Wizz Air also announced one or two fewer weekly flights on Bari from January 2027; the airport's winter timetable, published later that month, shows two a week through to March.

Palermo and Alghero ran in summer 2026 only: Palermo three times a week from 15 July to 11 September and Alghero twice a week from 19 July to 12 September. On 1 November 2026 neither route had been confirmed for summer 2027. The airports publish their timetables as informative and subject to change, so check the dates you need with Wizz Air before you plan around them.

Can you still fly from Italy to Ohrid?

Not this winter. Wizz Air started flying from Milan Malpensa (MXP) to Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) twice a week at the end of March 2026, but ended the route early, in mid-September. On 1 November 2026 no return for summer 2027 had been announced by the airline, so there is no direct flight from Italy to Ohrid to book at the moment.

For a trip to Lake Ohrid, the practical route is a flight to Skopje and the drive on: a car booked with us from Skopje Airport to Ohrid costs a fixed €145 per vehicle (the Skopje Airport to Ohrid drive). The airlines that do fly into Ohrid are listed in the Ohrid Airport guide.

When you land in Skopje

From the terminal there are three ways onwards. The airport shuttle bus is the cheapest, at 199 MKD one way to three stops in the city; the airport bus guide has its timetable. The official taxi rank charges 1,500 MKD to the city on its fixed price list. Or you book a car before you fly, at a fixed €32 per vehicle to the city, with the driver waiting in the arrivals hall (fixed-price transfers from Skopje Airport).

The bus makes sense if you travel light and land in the daytime. A car booked ahead is worth it when you land late in the evening, because the winter bus timetable has no departures between about 19:30 and midnight; when you travel as a family with luggage, because the price is per vehicle; or when you're going on past Skopje. By car straight from the airport, Struga costs €225, Tetovo €80 and Gostivar €105.

Put your flight number in the booking: the driver follows the flight, and there's no extra charge for waiting caused by a delay. The flight delay guide covers late and cancelled flights.

Frequently asked questions

Which airlines fly from Italy to Skopje?

Only Wizz Air. It flies all year from Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, Bari, Naples, Bologna and Venice Treviso, and in summer 2026 it added Palermo and Alghero. No other airline flies directly between Italy and Skopje in the current timetables, so if your city has no route you'll need a nearby Italian airport or a connection elsewhere.

Which Milan airport do the Skopje flights use?

Bergamo (BGY), which Wizz Air sells as Milan Bergamo. There is no direct flight to Skopje from Malpensa or Linate. Milan Bergamo has about four flights a week in summer and two or three in winter, and the flight takes about 2 hours. Wizz Air's Malpensa route went to Ohrid, not Skopje, and ended in September 2026.

Is there a direct flight from Rome or Naples to Skopje?

Yes, from both, with Wizz Air all year. Rome Fiumicino (FCO) has about four flights a week in summer and three in winter, taking about 1 hour 50 minutes; there is no Skopje flight from Ciampino. Naples (NAP), new in March 2026, has three a week in summer and one or two in winter, taking about 1 hour 35 minutes.

How long does it take to fly from Italy to Skopje?

Between about 1 hour 10 minutes and 2 hours. Bari is the shortest, Naples and Venice Treviso take about 1 hour 35 to 40 minutes, Rome, Bologna and Palermo about 1 hour 50 minutes, and Milan Bergamo and Alghero about 2 hours. These are our estimates from the airport timetables, so plan by the time on your booking.

Are there flights from Italy to Skopje in winter?

Yes. Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, Bari, Naples, Bologna and Venice Treviso all fly in the winter 2026/27 timetable, but less often: one to three flights a week instead of two to four. Bologna drops to one a week for part of the winter and Wizz Air announced cuts on Bari from January 2027, so check exact dates.

Is there a flight from Sicily or Sardinia to Skopje?

Only in summer, and not yet confirmed for 2027. In summer 2026 Wizz Air flew from Palermo three times a week between 15 July and 11 September, and from Alghero twice a week between 19 July and 12 September. Neither route is in the winter timetable. Watch for Wizz Air's summer 2027 schedule before you plan a trip.

Is there still a flight from Milan to Ohrid?

Not at the moment, and no other Italian airport flies to Ohrid either. Wizz Air flew from Milan Malpensa to Ohrid twice a week from late March 2026 but ended the route early, in September, and no return had been announced on 1 November 2026. The practical option is a flight to Skopje and the drive on, which we offer at a fixed €145 per vehicle.

Want a car waiting when you land?
