Flights from the Netherlands to Skopje and Ohrid: Eindhoven, Maastricht and Amsterdam
Flights from the Netherlands to Skopje are about to change airport. Wizz Air flies from Eindhoven until 29 January 2027; Eindhoven Airport then closes to all flights until 19 July, and from 29 March 2027 the Skopje flights leave from Maastricht instead. Between those dates there is no direct flight from the Netherlands to Skopje at all. Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) has summer flights from Amsterdam Schiphol with TUI. Below are the dates, flight times, the nearest airports across the border for the gap, and your options once you land.
Information checked
Flights from Eindhoven to Skopje until 29 January 2027
Wizz Air flies from Eindhoven (EIN) to Skopje International Airport (SKP), and in the summer 2026 and winter 2026/27 timetables it is the only scheduled route between the Netherlands and Skopje. There is no direct flight from Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague or Groningen.
In summer 2026 the route flew three times a week. The winter timetable keeps three to four flights a week, but only until 29 January 2027. Most flights land in Skopje in the early evening, around 18:35 local time, and the return leaves Skopje around midday; until 12 December a Saturday flight also lands before noon.
- Airline: Wizz Air
- Summer 2026: 3 round trips a week
- Winter 2026/27: 3 to 4 a week, last flights on 29 January 2027
- Flight time: about 2 hours 40 minutes, by our estimate
- Landing time in Skopje: early evening
Flights from Maastricht to Skopje from 29 March 2027
Eindhoven Airport is closed to all flights from 1 February to 19 July 2027. In October 2026 Wizz Air said its Skopje flights would move to Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) from 29 March 2027, the start of the summer timetable. The number of flights a week had not been published on 1 November 2026, and neither had any plan for the route after Eindhoven reopens in July, so check the Wizz Air timetable before you choose dates.
Maastricht is in the far south of Limburg, close to the Belgian and German borders. For travellers from Amsterdam, Utrecht or the north it is a longer journey than Eindhoven, so allow for that when you compare the fare with other options.
No Dutch flights in February and March 2027: the nearest alternatives
From 1 February to 28 March 2027 there are no scheduled flights from the Netherlands to Skopje. The German options, with their flight times, are listed in our guide to flights from Dortmund, Cologne and the rest of Germany. Check the Wizz Air timetable for your dates, because the airline announced cuts on several Skopje routes for this winter.
If you have to travel in those weeks, the nearest direct flights leave from airports just across the border, all with Wizz Air and all running through the winter:
- Brussels Charleroi (CRL): 3 to 5 flights a week, about 2 hours 45 minutes
- Dortmund (DTM): a flight most days, about 2 hours 35 minutes
- Cologne Bonn (CGN): 4 to 5 flights a week, about 2 hours 35 minutes
Netherlands to Skopje flight time
Expect about 2 hours 40 minutes from Eindhoven to Skopje and about 2 hours 35 minutes from Maastricht. Both figures are our estimates from the published airport timetables, rounded to 5 minutes, not airline figures; plan by the scheduled times on your booking.
There is no time difference: North Macedonia runs on Central European Time, like the Netherlands, and changes its clocks on the same dates. The time on your ticket is the time on your watch when you land, and any pickup you book in Skopje is entered in that same local time.
Flights from Amsterdam to Ohrid with TUI in summer
TUI fly Netherlands flew from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) to Ohrid three times a week from mid-May to September 2026. It is the only direct link between the Netherlands and Ohrid, and it does not fly in winter. On 1 November 2026 the summer 2027 programme had not been confirmed. These are TUI holiday flights, so check whether flight-only seats are on sale for your dates. The flight takes about 2 hours 50 minutes, by our estimate.
Ohrid Airport is about 10 km from the town and has no public bus, and we don't pick up there; the Ohrid Airport guide covers the official taxis and car rental. Outside the TUI season, fly to Skopje and continue by road: a car booked with us from Skopje Airport to Ohrid costs a fixed €145 per vehicle, as set out on the Skopje Airport to Ohrid page.
Beyond the Netherlands: the other airlines at Skopje Airport
The routes from the Netherlands are only part of the airport's network. Across the airport as a whole, about a dozen airlines fly scheduled routes to Skopje in the winter 2026/27 timetable, and Wizz Air, with Wizz Air UK from London Luton, flies about three in four of them. The rest are mostly hub connections, useful when your own dates don't fit: Turkish Airlines from Istanbul Airport, Pegasus and AJet from Sabiha Gökçen, Austrian Airlines from Vienna, Air Serbia from Belgrade, Aegean from Athens, Croatia Airlines from Zagreb, Edelweiss and Chair Airlines from Zurich, and easyJet from Geneva. Lufthansa from Frankfurt, LOT from Warsaw and Norwegian from Oslo flew only in summer 2026.
Once you land in Skopje
From the airport you can take the shuttle bus, a taxi from the rank, or a car booked before you fly. The bus costs 199 MKD one way and stops at three points in the city, and its timetable is in the Skopje Airport bus guide. The official taxi rank charges 1,500 MKD to the city on its published price list. We charge a fixed €32 per vehicle to the city, with the driver waiting in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign (Skopje Airport transfers at a fixed price).
After the early-evening Eindhoven landing the bus usually still has a departure at about 19:30, but on Mondays its last evening bus leaves at about 17:45, before the flight lands. Maastricht landing times had not been published on 1 November 2026. If you travel light and the timing works, the bus is the cheapest way in. A car booked ahead earns its price when you are a family or group with luggage, because you pay per vehicle, not per person, or when you go straight on to another town, such as Tetovo for €80 or Struga for €225 by car.
Add your flight number to the booking so the driver can follow the flight; there is no extra charge for waiting caused by a delay, and the guide to delayed flights covers the rest. With the Eindhoven to Maastricht switch, double-check your flight date before you book your Skopje Airport transfer; you can book as far ahead as you like and nothing is paid at booking.
