Flights from Germany to Skopje and Ohrid, airport by airport
Flights from Germany to Skopje leave from ten German airports all year, nearly all of them with Wizz Air, and two of those airports also fly to Ohrid. Most flights take about two to two and a half hours. This page lists every direct route in the winter 2026/27 timetable, explains which airport is really the 'Munich' or 'Frankfurt' one, shows what changes between summer and winter, and sets out your options once you land.

Which German airports fly direct to Skopje
Wizz Air flies to Skopje International Airport (SKP) all year from ten German airports, and Lufthansa flew from Frankfurt Airport in summer 2026. The figures below are round trips per week in the winter 2026/27 timetable, with summer 2026 in brackets where it was different. They move a little from week to week, so treat them as a guide to how often a route flies, not as a timetable.
Dortmund and Memmingen are the busiest German routes, with a flight on most days. Everything else runs two to five times a week, which means your choice of airport can decide which days you can travel.
- Dortmund (DTM): Wizz Air, about 7 a week (7 to 10 in summer)
- Memmingen (FMM): Wizz Air, about 7 a week, all year
- Berlin Brandenburg (BER): Wizz Air, about 5 a week (5 to 7 in summer)
- Cologne Bonn (CGN): Wizz Air, 4 to 5 a week (3 to 4 in summer)
- Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) and Hamburg (HAM): Wizz Air, 3 to 4 a week each (Hahn about 5 and Hamburg 4 to 5 in summer)
- Stuttgart (STR), Friedrichshafen (FDH) and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB): Wizz Air, 2 to 3 a week each (3 to 5 in summer)
- Nuremberg (NUE): Wizz Air, about 2 a week (3 in summer)
- Frankfurt Airport (FRA): Lufthansa, about 10 a week in summer 2026, no winter flights
Frankfurt-Hahn is not Frankfurt Airport, and Memmingen is not Munich
Wizz Air's year-round 'Frankfurt' flight leaves from Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN), about 120 km west of Frankfurt, not from Frankfurt Airport (FRA). The flight from Frankfurt Airport itself is Lufthansa's, and the airport timetables show it in summer 2026 only. On 1 November 2026 it had no winter flights and no confirmed summer 2027 schedule, so check Lufthansa's own timetable before you plan a trip around it.
Munich works the same way. There is no direct flight from Munich Airport to Skopje. Wizz Air sells its Memmingen (FMM) flights as Munich Memmingen, but Memmingen is about 110 km from Munich, so allow for that journey on the German side when you compare prices and times.
No direct flight from your city? The nearest German alternatives
The current timetables show no scheduled direct flight to Skopje from Düsseldorf, Munich Airport, Hanover, Leipzig or Bremen. Freebird Europe runs a few multi-stop charter flights that touch German cities such as Düsseldorf, Munich and Hamburg in spring and autumn, but they are charters on changing dates, not regular scheduled routes. For most people the answer is a nearby airport:
- Düsseldorf and the Ruhr: Dortmund (DTM) or Cologne Bonn (CGN)
- Munich and southern Bavaria: Memmingen (FMM)
- Franconia: Nuremberg (NUE)
- Baden and the Palatinate: Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB), which is also close to Strasbourg
- Lake Constance: Friedrichshafen (FDH)
- South Baden: EuroAirport Basel (BSL), across the border, with about 10 Wizz Air flights a week
Germany to Skopje flight time
Expect about two to two and a half hours in the air. Memmingen and Nuremberg are the shortest at about 2 hours, Berlin and Friedrichshafen take about 2 hours 5 minutes, and Stuttgart and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden about 2 hours 15 minutes. Lufthansa's Frankfurt flight takes about 2 hours 20 minutes, Frankfurt-Hahn and Hamburg about 2 hours 30 minutes, and Dortmund and Cologne Bonn are the longest at about 2 hours 35 minutes.
These are our estimates from the published airport timetables, rounded to 5 minutes, not airline figures. The scheduled time on your booking is the one to plan by. If you come from the Basel side, the routes from Switzerland and Basel have their own times, and Lufthansa also sells seats on Austrian Airlines flights through Vienna, which the page on flights via Vienna covers.
Year-round and summer routes from Germany
All ten Wizz Air routes appear in both the summer 2026 and the winter 2026/27 timetables, so you can fly from Germany to Skopje in any month. What changes is how often. Several routes drop a flight or two a week in winter, and in October 2026 Wizz Air announced one or two fewer weekly flights from January 2027 on Hamburg, Stuttgart, Friedrichshafen and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, so a day that worked last year may not exist this year.
Lufthansa from Frankfurt Airport is the one summer-only route. If you're planning for Christmas, New Year or the summer holidays, check the exact dates you need with the airline before you commit, because the airports publish their timetables as informative and subject to change.
Flights from Germany to Ohrid
Wizz Air flies from Dortmund and Memmingen to Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) all year, about twice a week each, and Memmingen adds extra flights over Christmas and New Year. The flight takes about 2 hours 5 minutes from Memmingen and about 2 hours 35 minutes from Dortmund.
Ohrid Airport is about 10 km from the town and opens around its flight timetable. There is no public bus, and we don't offer pickups there; the Ohrid Airport guide covers the official taxis and car rental. If the twice-weekly Ohrid flights don't fit your dates, fly to Skopje and continue by road: a car booked with us from Skopje Airport to Ohrid costs a fixed €145 per vehicle, as described on the Skopje Airport to Ohrid page.
Beyond Germany: the other airlines at Skopje Airport
Germany has more direct routes to Skopje than any other country, but they are only part of the airport's network. Across the airport as a whole, about a dozen airlines fly scheduled routes to Skopje in the winter 2026/27 timetable, and Wizz Air, with Wizz Air UK from London Luton, flies about three in four of them. The rest are mostly hub connections, useful when your own dates don't fit: Turkish Airlines from Istanbul Airport, Pegasus and AJet from Sabiha Gökçen, Austrian Airlines from Vienna, Air Serbia from Belgrade, Aegean from Athens, Croatia Airlines from Zagreb, Edelweiss and Chair Airlines from Zurich, and easyJet from Geneva. Lufthansa from Frankfurt, LOT from Warsaw and Norwegian from Oslo flew only in summer 2026.
When you land in Skopje
You have three realistic ways out of the airport. The airport shuttle bus costs 199 MKD one way and stops at three points in the city; its stops and timetable are in the Skopje Airport bus guide. The official airport taxi rank charges 1,500 MKD to the city on its fixed price list. Or you book a car before you fly: we charge a fixed €32 per vehicle to the city, and the driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign (fixed-price transfers from Skopje Airport).
The bus is the cheapest option and works well if you travel light and land in the daytime. A car booked ahead makes more sense if you land late, since the winter bus timetable has no departures between about 19:30 and midnight and some flights from Germany land in the late evening. It also helps if you travel as a family with luggage, because the price is per vehicle, or if you're going beyond Skopje: straight from the airport to Tetovo costs €80, to Gostivar €105 and to Pristina €135 by car.
Put your flight number in the booking: the driver follows the flight, and there's no extra charge for waiting caused by a delay. What happens if a flight is late or cancelled is explained in the flight delay guide.
