Flying from Malmö, Gothenburg or Stockholm to Skopje: routes, times and seasons

Flights from Sweden to Skopje leave from three Swedish airports, Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm, all with Wizz Air and all year round, with fewer flights in winter. The flight takes between about 2 hours 40 minutes and 3 hours. This page covers how often each route flies, which Stockholm airport to expect, the option for travellers from Copenhagen, the late landing times and what to do once you are on the ground. We checked it against the official Skopje Airport timetables on 1 November 2026; schedules change, so confirm your times with Wizz Air.

Information checked

Which airports in Sweden fly direct to Skopje

Three Swedish airports have scheduled direct flights to Skopje International Airport (SKP). All three routes are flown by Wizz Air, which bases aircraft in Skopje, and each runs in both the summer and the winter timetable. No other airline flies a scheduled route from Sweden to North Macedonia.

  • Malmö Airport (MMX): about 5 to 7 flights a week in summer and about 5 in winter, the busiest of the three.
  • Göteborg Landvetter (GOT): about 4 flights a week in summer and 2 to 3 in winter.
  • Stockholm (ARN): 3 to 4 flights a week in summer and about 2 in winter.

Flights from Malmö to Skopje, and the option for Copenhagen

Malmö has the most flights from Sweden to Skopje, close to daily at the height of summer. In the winter 2026/27 timetable most flights from Malmö land in Skopje late in the evening, between about 23:15 and 00:05 depending on the day, because the aircraft is flying back to its base in Skopje for the night. From 7 January the Thursday flight lands earlier, at about 18:15.

Denmark has no direct flight to Skopje, so Malmö is also the nearest route for travellers from Copenhagen and eastern Denmark.

A landing close to midnight is worth planning for. Skopje Airport is open 24/7, but some of its services close in the evening. Our late-night arrival guide covers what is still open and how to get on your way.

Flights from Stockholm and Gothenburg to Skopje

Göteborg Landvetter has about four flights a week to Skopje in summer and two or three in winter. Stockholm has three or four a week in summer, falling to about two in winter, so from Stockholm you have the fewest days to choose from, especially between November and March.

The Skopje timetables list the flight only as 'Stockholm'; other sources give Stockholm Arlanda (ARN). Check the airport name and code on your booking before you plan the journey to the airport.

There are no direct flights from other Swedish airports. From the north of the country, or from smaller cities, plan to travel to Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö first, and leave a generous margin if that means a separate train or flight.

Sweden to Skopje flight time

Flights from Malmö take about 2 hours 40 minutes, from Gothenburg about 3 hours and from Stockholm about 3 hours 5 minutes. These are our estimates from the Wizz Air rotations in the published Skopje timetables, so treat the times on your booking as the ones to plan with.

Sweden and North Macedonia are both on Central European Time and move their clocks for summer on the same days, so there is no time difference: the landing time on your ticket is Skopje local time and needs no conversion.

Year-round and seasonal routes from Sweden

All three Swedish routes run all year. What changes is how often they fly. Winter (25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027) has fewer flights on every route, with Stockholm down to about two a week. Summer, from the end of March to late October, adds flights again.

If your dates are fixed, compare all three Swedish airports before you book: on a given day one of them may fly when the others don't, especially in winter.

In autumn 2026 there were also multi-stop charter flights linking Stockholm and Gothenburg with Skopje, as part of a charter series running until 13 December 2026. Charters are not regular scheduled routes and change from season to season, so don't count on them when you plan.

Going on to Ohrid

There are no direct flights from Sweden to Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD). The simplest way is to fly to Skopje and continue by road. A car booked with us from Skopje Airport to Ohrid costs a fixed €145 per vehicle, as set out on the Skopje Airport to Ohrid page.

If you'd rather fly into Ohrid with a change of planes elsewhere, the Ohrid Airport guide explains which airlines fly there and how to get from that airport to town; we don't pick up at Ohrid Airport.

Beyond Sweden: the other airlines at Skopje Airport

The routes from Sweden are only part of the airport's network. Across the airport as a whole, about a dozen airlines fly scheduled routes to Skopje in the winter 2026/27 timetable, and Wizz Air, with Wizz Air UK from London Luton, flies about three in four of them. The rest are mostly hub connections, useful when your own dates don't fit: Turkish Airlines from Istanbul Airport, Pegasus and AJet from Sabiha Gökçen, Austrian Airlines from Vienna, Air Serbia from Belgrade, Aegean from Athens, Croatia Airlines from Zagreb, Edelweiss and Chair Airlines from Zurich, and easyJet from Geneva. Lufthansa from Frankfurt, LOT from Warsaw and Norwegian from Oslo flew only in summer 2026.

Landing in Skopje: getting to the city and beyond

You have three realistic ways out of the airport. The airport shuttle bus costs 199 MKD one way and stops at three points in the city; its stops and timetable are in the Skopje Airport bus guide. The official airport taxi rank charges 1,500 MKD to the city on its fixed price list. Or you book a car before you fly: we charge a fixed €32 per vehicle to the city, and the driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign (a fixed-price car from Skopje Airport).

The timing of the Swedish flights matters here. In winter 2026/27 the airport bus has no departures between about 19:30 and midnight and only one or two between midnight and 03:30, so a Malmö flight landing at 23:15 can mean a long wait. A car booked ahead also makes sense for families with luggage, because the price is per vehicle and not per person, and for trips beyond Skopje: straight from the airport to Tetovo costs €80, to Gostivar €105 and to Kumanovo €75 by car.

Put your flight number in the booking: the driver follows the flight, and there's no extra charge for waiting caused by a delay. The flight delay guide explains what happens if your flight is late or cancelled.

Frequently asked questions

Which airline flies the Swedish routes to Skopje?

Wizz Air is the only airline with scheduled flights from Sweden to Skopje. It flies from Malmö, Göteborg Landvetter and Stockholm all year, with fewer flights in winter. In autumn 2026 there were also some multi-stop charter flights from Stockholm and Gothenburg, but these are not regular routes and are not something to plan a trip around.

Which Stockholm airport does the Skopje route use?

The Skopje Airport timetables list the route only as Stockholm, and other sources give Stockholm Arlanda (ARN). Because some airlines use more than one airport around a city, check the airport name and the three-letter code on your Wizz Air booking before you plan how to get there. The route runs all year, about two flights a week in winter.

Can I fly to Skopje from Copenhagen?

Not directly. Denmark has no scheduled flight to Skopje, so the nearest option is Malmö Airport across the Øresund in Sweden, which has the most Swedish flights to Skopje: about 5 to 7 a week in summer and about 5 in winter. In winter 2026/27 most of these flights land in Skopje late in the evening, between about 23:15 and 00:05.

How long is the flight from Malmö to Skopje?

About 2 hours 40 minutes. From Gothenburg it is about 3 hours and from Stockholm about 3 hours 5 minutes. These are estimates based on the published Wizz Air rotations, so use the times on your booking. Sweden and North Macedonia share a time zone, so the landing time on your ticket is already Skopje local time.

How many flights a week are there from Sweden to Skopje in winter?

In winter 2026/27 (25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027) there are about 9 to 10 a week in total: about 5 from Malmö, 2 or 3 from Gothenburg and about 2 from Stockholm. In summer the total rises to roughly 12 to 15 a week. All three routes run all year, so there is no month without a direct flight from Sweden.

What time do flights from Malmö land in Skopje?

In the winter 2026/27 timetable, most flights from Malmö land in Skopje late in the evening, between about 23:15 and 00:05 depending on the day; from 7 January the Thursday flight lands at about 18:15. The airport is open 24/7, but the airport bus has a gap in its timetable between about 19:30 and midnight, so decide before you fly how you will get from the airport to where you are staying.

Want a car waiting when you land?

One fixed price per vehicle. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign. Send the request and we email you as soon as your driver is confirmed.
